overview
I designed the Compute Optimizer tool to help customers manage compute costs by providing insights and recommendations for optimizing expensive and inefficient conditions, such as alerts, dashboards and APIs. This is crucial as New Relic transitions to a consumption-based pricing model, which increases the need for efficient compute usage.
problem statement
We had a unique problem to solve- Identifying potential optimizations, especially around Alerts, the key capability driving compute usage for New Relic customers. In order to manage compute costs, we needed to provide customers with tooling around cost optimization and proactive cost control.
